Winhill at sunrise 👌

nice! I like to do sunrises sometimes, but they're rough! well done!

It's been a bright and sunny day here chez Casa Reynard, and quite warm when sheltered from that brisk westerly.

Slept pretty well. The usual choresy morning was had, along with the addition of a load of laundry. Joint pain seems to have eased somewhat, but now my hayfever is bothering me thanks to several dozen poplar trees flowering near by.

Lovely luncheon of ciabatta, smoked mackerel, plus an apple, a tangerine and a :cuppa:

Afternoon was spent outside doing a spot of lumberjilling. Now that I have a good supply of firewood in the garage, I can tackle some of the green wood that needs tidying up. Today's choice was a large ivy-covered willow branch. Nowhere near finishing it, but I made a start.

Then off to drop off the parental's prescription, and on the way home, nip to Aldi to pick up two large bags of red lentils they have in their ramadan offer - at £2.99 for a 2kg bag, it makes them waaaaaaaaaay cheaper than Tesco (£2.60 for 1kg). And I use them a lot in curries and soups. They must've had problems flogging off all that chocolate spread with the heart-shaped sugar sprinkles, because they'd reduced them further to 6p a jar! None left (unsurprising), but I picked up half a dozen jars at 29p last week, and that'll do me a while anyways.

I have had some soup, and soon it'll be time to sort the rest of supper.

Another enjoyable ride in the sunshine today, 40 miles from Diss to Norwich with a couple of motorsport related stops at Snetterton and the Lotus factory just outside Hethel - I like to include some form of theme when I can.

As I said last week it's amazing how much your mood improves with a bit of sun after the grotty weather of the year so far. It got a bit chilly sitting outside the pub thanks to quite a stiff breeze along the river, so I was forced to retreat inside for the final pint before the train home. They've still not finished the refurbishment of the Greggs at Ipswich train station, so I couldn't have my free hot drink when I got back there.
A relaxed evening has been had and it's almost time for today's hot chocolate.
