A chilly, grey and very blustery day here chez Casa Reynard.
Did not have the best night's sleep, and only bagged about five hours, so feeling a bit meh today. So made myself a cuppa, took it back upstairs and spent a couple of extra hours in bed writing and doing some more admin stuff. That done, I got up and scudded through the chores. The main task of the morning was loading the crock pot with tonight's supper - I should have enough for a few days.
Had a lovely luncheon of toast, smoked mackerel, a couple of tangerines and a
Weather was too wild to do anything outside - even for something like clipping small wood and kindling, so I settled back to mend a pair of work jeans while watching some of the action from Cheltenham.
That was then scuppered, as the power went out shortly after four, and didn't come back till 6pm. I will probably finish mending the jeans tomorrow. I need to finish darning one hole and tack a couple of patches on. And then stitch the patches in place. So in the end, I just wrapped up warm and went for a walk, just to do something.
Now I'm waiting for the curry to finish cooking, and I shall put the rice cooker on in a moment.
I'm currently watching "Deadliest Catch"

No snooze this afternoon in the end. Just did a bit of reading until it got too dark, made tea (gammon steak & baby potatoes), had a coffee and then did more reading with the radio on in the background. The evening's hot chocolate has already been had.

Yesterday postie delivered a Bluetooth receiver/ transmitter which I needed for the Bluetooth headphones. Was problematic getting then to connect yesterday and tonight they did not want to know. That was until I did the opposite to the instructions and switched the headphones to Bluetooth connect mode before switching the transmitter on. Immediate connection.

Heck it's been windy today! At one point I actually thought I was going over, such was the speed of the wind! 😲 On arriving back home, I saw all these bits of roof slates right next to where I park my car! Imagine the damage they might've caused my car if it'd been parked there in its usual spot!
This one is stuck in the turf. You can see the angle it landed at more in the top of the above photo! Imagine it landing like that on someone's head!🙄

Very pretty, though, when in situ. Glad you dodged the bullet(or falling slate) on that one. I was worried the other night that rain, hail, or wind would destroy my car at the repair garage. (or a tornado) But all was well, excepting my wallet.

I don't park my car next to the high, stone built building across from my flat because I imagine the chimney stacks blowing over in strong winds and landing on me as I park up or move off! At least there's a grassed area and a wide pavement between me, my car and that roof where I park, unlike just the narrow pavement between me, my car and that high stone building. Was it one of 'The Omen' films where the priest was killed by a falling chimney stack?🤔
