The afternoon snooze didn't require much contemplation, just a warm sleeping bag and football on the radio in the background. It would probably have been more than the half hour had if it wasn't for a combination of a local council election leaflet being pushed through my letterbox and excitable commentary at Spurs conceding a 3rd goal happening at about the same time.

Did a bit of reading once fully awake, then tea time, then more reading and a bit of faffing around. Next up is the evening's hot chocolate and moving the non-recycling bin to the front of the house ready for emptying on Monday.

Why do shops insist on sicking bags of cornflower to the cardboard box. Aldi's use to be a loose bag which made for very easilly controllable use. Anyway loaf made for overnight cooling before cuttting and freezing.

It's been a cool and mostly overcast day here chez Casa Reynard, although the sun did put in a bit of an appearance.

Another night of short sleep has left me feeling rather meh. I've had a serious attack of the can't-be-arsed today. OK, have to do the basic chores, can't escape those, and I forced myself to go outside and haul in firewood. I brought in the lengths of oak that I stacked in a sheltered spot in the garden previous week, and got them under the garage porch. There was a dozen six foot lengths of 4-inch thick wood - I can now turn those into logs at my leisure this coming week without having to worry about the weather, as both them and I will stay dry.

Most of what I've done today is work on the writing. It's a challenge to make an infodump not *look* like an infodump, especially when a chunk of it is based on real events.

Food has been mostly naughty snacky stuff. That included a curry pot noodle. And I made a batch of banana pancakes, which slid down very nicely with butter and syrup.

The less said about the football, the better. OTOH, Spurs lost too, so it's not all doom and gloom.

Yes, it was a bit of a Blimey O'Reilly! game. Still, what else can City win?

Spurs were so poor that they actually need sympathy right now.

It occurred to me that since I decided to pay to watch Premier League matches live, my home team hasn't scored a single goal....

I'd rather have seen Raya in goal. What the heck was Kepa thinking? He's a talented keeper, but he blows hot and cold, not exactly confidence-inspiring. Ah well, hey ho.

Spurs... Half of me thinks I should be tittering and pointing out that their fans were making fun of us when we had some tough years after moving into a new stadium and couldn't invest in the squad as much. The boot's on the other foot now, but it's sad to see. The wheels really have come off

As long as your lot keep picking up points, I reckon they'll be OK. Maybe best switch back to free radio commentaries instead!
