I've slept most of today. I've been really tired. I was trying to have a nap on the settee when Georgie came along and bit my big toe twice. I don't know if he was seeing if I was still alive but it got me moving. He then jumped up on to my legs and settled down for a nap.

Mundane work day interrupted by what was going to a reasonably leisurely Co-Op trek. That was until I found Kelly's ice cream on offer along with the fact I had a 50p app voucher for the same. So it was a rather fast walk home.

The last two early evenings the vans alarm has gone off just as the day light had gone. So hard to see what issue was, on the way back from my afternoon walk I spotted the issue. The over wintering lacewing had wake up and was flying round the cab. So grabbed the the key and soon had it free. I'm quite happy that it made though winter they are not as common now and are so useful in garden pest control.

I had a "near miss" at the Hopsital this afternoon. Long story short, a nurse was moving one of those screens that are solid panels on wheels. I was about to sit down after my treatment. The screen toppled over, and that fell on a blood pressure machine which then toppled over nearly landing my head. If I had been sitting down, it would have landed on my head. There are four hooks sticking out at the top and the monitor "box" has sharp corners. The screens are heavy.

Another member of staff was quickly on the scene to try to do something. The staff admitted that the screens were not fit for purpose, as they are not stable when concertinaed up. I do not think they are very stable at all, centre of gravity and all that.

I told the two members of staff that they should submit a "near miss" report.

In an office today waiting to be seen and noticed on the reception desk a box of bagged sweets for sale to support the Great Ormond Street Hospital, famous for it's ground breaking work with children.
I wa therefore saomewaht puzzled by the warning on said box 'Not for sale to children'.

Hopefully the staff will have Daxit it (incident report) if management act on it is another matter.

One of the options you can tick is devices / equipment so you don't need to include the staff.

A grey but mild day here chez Casa Reynard.

Sleep was good but short. Bagged five hours, woke up, then turned over for another couple of hours. Then it was up and out to meet up with my friend Linda for our weekly dog walk. We had a lovely bimble around the community orchard and the nature reserve. I gave her some baking potatoes and a portion of my pear & almond crumble.

Clothes bank still hadn't been emptied, so the bags stayed in the boot of the car. Did stop off at the book bank and picked up a couple of things that I fancied reading - one a book on the modern-day 617 squadron and the other, a novel by Anton du Beke.

Back home to clear the chores. As I still had a bit of time, I went out with the chainsaw to cut up some oak that I'd prepared previous week. Forgot to put my watch on, so instead of half an hour, I did well over an hour. Whoops!

Had a lovely but rather late luncheon of a ham & mustard sandwich, a homemade granola bar, a packet of crisps and a pot of tea.

Then back out to haul in the wood that I cut. My stash in the garage has been nicely replenished.

I've had a quiet evening. Been following the Artemis II launch (am sooooooooooo excited!). Have also watched Deadliest Catch and am following the Arsenal v Chelsea tie in the women's champions league.

Supper was sausage & bean casserole with couscous, and I'm going to have some crumble in a bit.

Somehow I made the early (09:00) outbound train to Ipswich, over the footbridge with bike for the Norwich bound train only to have to go back over again due to a platform change!

Despite the continuing cloud, a very enjoyable cross county ride of just under 50 miles was had from Diss to Great Yarmouth where a pint was had for rehydration and then straight on the train for home. To replace the used energy, I thought I'd treat myself to a takeaway for tea from the Chinese which opened this week less than half a mile from home (previously a chippie which closed last year when the owner retired). Turns out they are cash only and I hardly ever use cash these days so had to resort to the emergency pizzas from the fridge.

A quiet evening has been had and the evening's hot chocolate will be had shortly.
