It's irritating that the various 'powers that be' automatically assume that EVERYONE is fully IT / internet etc. literate and puts more & more stuff online with various apps and so on so we can 'save time & effort' by doing it ourselves at our own convenience.
Rather like assuming that all lad can fix a car and all lasses can sew and make clothes.
My example is I had to arrange to open a new bank account in order to transfer my late sister's accounts into for probate.
I was in the only branch of said bank in the city, a long standing banking business and in a pretty imposing building.
Could I open an account there - ?
No chance, I had to go home and download the app and then navigate my way through all the checks & security hoops to do so,
Later on, I had to phone the banks bereavement team who wanted a serial number from the new account. As it was on my cellphone, I had no Idea how to carry on talking to the lass and check the new banking app at the same time. Apparently, it can be done, but I'm clueless as to how.
I'm 72 and do not have the 'expected' IT knowledge that many assume that everyone apparently has.
Not impressed. :cursing:

Yes, I can fix my car and take a computer apart and reassemble it but I don't know how the damn thing works!
We are being forced by EE to lose our land line and go to our phobile moans!
It must be an age thing, I'm the same age! We like to speak to people face to face to understand what is going on or to sort things out.

Good morning (just about) from yet again sunny & warmish Suffolk. bit late on parade due to a very good night's sleep and a morning of faffing around doing other things. Coffee has been had and number two is about to be made which will be drunk while having a shower.

The ticket mentioned yesterday has been secured, but for a different venue than initially planned - I was hoping for Newcastle, but it looks like they're doing it as a seated gig and it would have meant me travelling up there for something else on Monday, home on Tuesday and back up on Wednesday. Instead I'm having a couple of days rest and going to Rock City in Nottingham on the Friday which is slightly more expensive hotel wise, but cheaper & quicker train travel.

I need to see if there's any update from mum & stepfather regarding me being patient transport over the next few days.

What‘a the collective word for mass of suitcases I wonder. As we sit here we’ve been to totally cut of by a mass of them. Due to large group of Spanish travellers surrounding us. If they don’t shift them before we need to move. I will and they are likely to to go on unexpected trip down the concourse.
