Good morning from Suffolk where it's been another lovely warm and hazily sunny start to the day. Coffee has been had after another very good night's sleep - I think I've been borrowing @Reynard 's missing sleep for the past couple of days.

@Jenkins I hope you're not booked on any trains near Oulton North today.. Seems like it's gone up in flames!

Thankfully not going on any outings today - I need to give my legs a rest after the past few days. All that needs to be done is a shopping trip for food & drink for the rest of the week and I may allow the use of the ebike once I've worked out whether it will all fit into a backpack or not.

I've heard nothing from my mum or sister so I presume that my stepfather has been safely delivered to the hospital for his hip replacement operation today. I can't plan anything for the next few days as I'm on patient collection/visitor transport duties from Friday, but no release date has been confirmed yet.

Party lunch passed without incident. I made a conscious effort to drain the hosts wine cellar. Helped the event unfold to some sort of painless conclusion for me.
Side benefit was that the management was obliged to drive us home. A trick I might use at similar events. Also means we seemed to leave earlier than otherwise.

Shopping done at Lidl and coupons for free cake and vegetables earned on next visit - my shopping wasn't that expensive but the customer in front didn't have the app so the cashier suggested I scan my app saving them about £3 and getting me the free cake. My minimal shop then took me up to the next reward level for free vegetables.

Stepfather has been successfully operated on and now has his new hip. Release date is Saturday so I'll take mum up visiting on Friday and then do the patient transport home the next day.

Still quite warm and sunnyish here so coffee, cold drink and book while slumped in the deck chair in the garden is next.

Further to my previous rant about only being able to open a bank account online, circumstances have changed so I don't need said account.
To close the account which I didn't actually use, I had to go into the bank to actually close it because the bank haven't included the facility on their app yet - !
The irony is certainly not lost on me - !

WAH abandoned at 4.30 for the return 1.8 mile walk to collect the car. Brolly needed initially and at the end. Repair looks okay.
Set the walk briefly as a ride and Strava gave me 5:22 for the ascent of humps and a hill.

Nice ride across town and back to help daughter de-spider her sheds & help tidy them up.
