Good morning from Suffolk where it's been clear blue skies, sunshine and warmth all the way so far. An XL double pod coffee has been had as there's only enough filter stuff left for two more mugs (this evening and Thursday morning) and I'll open a fresh pack when I get home on Friday afternoon.

Somebody's making a racket on the other side of the rail line for the third day in a row - sounds a bit like pile driving (fencing?) but they are just hidden from view so I can't confirm.

A load of towels are currently being dealt with by the washing machine and I've got half a dozen shirts to iron this morning. After that I need to pop into town to get some travel snacks for Thursday's away day and something to eat this evening. The rest of the day may be spent in the shade waiting for the wind to turn a slightly cooling easterly.

I just had a surprise visit from a whirlwind of an electrician - he arrived an hour earlier than expected and left an hour and a half earlier than scheduled. Still, he did appreciate a mug of tea from a freshly brewed pot. ''Banging'' he called it.

33C forecast for here today. 23C forecast at Hastings. I'm favouring the Chill end of the Cook or Chill scale. Will I need a jacket against the cold?

Some B*****d almost took me out yesterday! I was riding around a roundabout looking over my right shoulder to see what vehicles were doing behind me. As I rode across the second exit I could see a car to my right behind me, it wasn't indicating. I continued cycling round but as I was halfway across the exit the B*****d cut across in front of me! No indication or anything. It's a pitty I wasn't wearing my smart glasses at the time to record the incident.

An 'interesting' ride home from shopping.

I went to the Lidl this side of Ipswich as I also wanted something from the Sainsbury's nearby and they were in the process of putting out Thursday's Specialbuys early. One of which was a pedestal fan and given that all the local shops are sold out of fans in this weather and I'm away tomorrow, there's no way I was going to miss out. I had thought of walking the bike to the nearest train station a couple of miles away, but after a test ride round the car park I found that a mixture of carrying the box and balancing it on the handlebars was possible so rode the 8 miles home!
