Spoke to our local cycling paramedic yeaterday who has recently been issued with a proper electric assist cargo bike replacing the mountain bike he'd had for some years.
He's well pleased with the new bike, especially with the electric as with all the weight of the necessary kit they have to carry, makes like a lot better for them.
Longer with a much lower centre of gravity makes handling different of course, but as long as he rembers that when taking corners at speed, a minor issue - !

New bike took about an hour to charge from 50% to 80%. Then tried its handlebar controller which annoyingly is CR2032 powered rather than being rechargeable.
It had a battery in situ but with no insulating piece preventing it connecting. Dead. New one inserted and it automatically connected to the bike.
Then worked out the cockpit arrangement. The handlebar controller needs a Garmin mount and well as one being needed for 530. I ended up ordering a new Garmin mount with bell underneath.

Very much of a day of getting a head start on house work and getting all the shopping I need. I've a busy old week ahead so won't have time for stuff. First stop is Hospital tomorrow. Then following on from last year when I got spotted by someone I know. Who asked me to stand in at short notice for a judge and do a bit of a GQT slot. This year i've been formally asked so on Tuesday I'm off judging the horticulture sections at the Great Yorkshire show. Then a few spots going the shows GQT. The rest of the shows days I'm going as a YAS member so plenty of free time to go and enjoy the show and meet up with people I only ever see at the show.

Then the weekend me and Mrs are off to the coast on a couple of day trips.

It's been a hot, wall-to-wall sunshine kind of day here chez Casa Reynard, albeit somewhat blustery.

Did not sleep well. A combo of late night, being hot & sweaty and only dozing rather than sleeping proper. Woke up with a bit of a thick head. Downstairs, fed the cat, made a :cuppa: and took it upstairs to do some writing. I am almost at the point of closing out chapter 33, it's just a question of tidying up the last few paragraphs. It's added a lot to the backstory of my main character, but now I need to decide what to do with my nouveau riche blonde bimbo and her rather obnoxiously entitled cousin.

Did the chores, then decided to postpone luncheon and pop to Tesco to take advantage of a good clubcard offer currently running on the cat biscuits that Madam Boo has decided that she likes - with the offer, they were cheaper than Zooplus on account of not needing to pay for delivery.

Got really lucky in the green damaged goods bin, picking up a dozen cans of baked beans at 20p a pop. I shall probably share those with my friend Linda. Also picked up a tin of 'vappy milk, a tin of peaches, a tin of pineapple, two packs of ham chunks, an avocado, a bag of Jersey Royals and a 30 bag multipack of crisps on sticker.

Came home and had a very late luncheon of a tuna, onion & mozzarella toastie, the last of the strawberries and a :cuppa:

Then I retired to a comfy chair in the garden to listen to the tennis for a bit. And watched the second half of the match on the telly. Now just planning on a quiet evening. Just need to decide what to have for supper.
