[Flick of the Elbow]

A very pleasant day, sunnier than forecast. Walked down the Water of Leith to Saughton Gardens, looking fabulous. Enjoyed lunch from the Bonnie Barista then retraced back up the Water of Leith home. Had a close encounter with a stoat as it darted across our path.

Dr done , bloods done, pharmacy are totally hopeless how do they loose meds ready since last week 🤦‍♂️. So now waiting for them to do it all again. Just want to go home I’ve things to do.

I absent-mindedly closed the email tab on my browser a couple of days ago and didn't miss it when notifications on my mobile ceased. But a notification came through today (no idea what the stop or start mechanism might be...other than ''apparently random'') and I found that my inbox had grown by 40 emails since I'd last looked. I'm now down to 7 unread. It feels like I've now paid for my weekend email holiday.

Definitely cooler today. No Magnum scoffed and teas rather than cold drinks this afternoon. Bread maker started before WAH and ended coinciding with second coffee.
The Garmin mount with a bell is apparently coming from the Netherlands by UPS at some point this week hopefully.

Good morning. An employee of the local authority is pressure washing the concrete flood barrier opposite my flat, which has improved its appearance immeasurably.

The simgle workman has now finished right to the point the road leaves the river bank and climbs up the hill. He deserves a medal doing that in this heat.

Waitrose, Sainsbury's, Sainsbury's filling station, Simply Food and Tesco for the car this evening
Objective of bananas resolved by three yellowish ones from Waitrose and two green but no longer dark green from Tesco. Sainsbury's was pretty much a dead loss for fresh or chilled products. Due to the Great Yorkshire Show its closed Tues-Fri and stacks of shelves were already empty having been sent to other stores, while Simply Food was a dead loss full stop. Did use up £2.50 of Nectar points and the same in Clubcard points in Tesco.

Finally had time to sort my stuff out for tomorrow. Good job I checked my emails, a few things have changed for tomorrow I'm now leading the judging. So even more paper work to sort out and extra bit's of hobnobbing with society and show presidents.
No change on the suit and boot front but I need to dig out my other lapel badge , society tie and try and have another look for my bowler hat.
It's been a while since i've down a proper county show and can't remember what I've done with it. No way can you get away without it at the GYS, at least I can just about remember who and when to doff it to.

Is summer over? We didn't get any sunshine until late afternoon.

Quite breezy but an enjoyable 25 mile loop out to get the glass cleaner followed by the last ice cream from the box as today's treat. Very little else done this evening.

A mixed bag weatherwise today here chez Casa Reynard, cool & grey to start, then warm & sunny to finish. Blustery all day, though.

Slept pretty well, though rather short-changed. So downstairs, feed the cat, make a and take it upstairs to do some writing. Had a really good session and finished the chapter I was working on.

Chores done at a better hour. Cheque book found, so I can go and pay the drainage board for the annual maintenance. Then out into the garden to do some weeding and clip some kindling. I got carried away some and totally forgot about the time.

So a very late luncheon was had of avocado on toast, a banana and a small pot of tea.

After, back into the garden to cut grass.

Lovely supper of pasta with cherry tomatoes, basil and mozzarella.

I've had a quiet evening watching Deadliest Catch and the Sumo.
