Hybrid ebike chain was cleaned in the ultrasonic cleaner. Absolutely filthy and took 2 hours using Screwfix degreaser (diluted 1:1 with water). Watched a YouTube video recommending a MucOff cleaner but that then needs the chain degreasing so not sure what time saving there is.
Then I found an equally filthy, if not more so, chain in the bike shed; thats now into its hopefully last half hour.
Evening Tesco trek for clubcard oranges, fruit juices and nakd bars plus freefrom custards creabs reduced to clear at 75p. Not so at the till but eventually a price reduction applies. Aldi for salad leaves.

Another warm & sunny day of doing very little but managing to spread it out to keep myself busy.
Shopping done
Bills paid - Next account & British Cycling renewal (everything else is direct debits spread out over the month)
Hotel & ticket purchased for an away day at the end of October (squeezing it in between two motor racing Sundays)
40 minute snooze had as all the keyboard work tired me out.

The evening has been filled with coverage of racing & qualifying from Road America ahead of Sunday's 6 hour IMSA race.

It's been a warm, blustery and occasionally sunny day here chez Casa Reynard.

Slept well enough despite waking up a few times during the night. And ended up oversleeping massively. Woke up to a furry madam wondering about the whereabouts of her breakfast. So downstairs, fed the cat (there was not a crumb left in either of her dishes), made myself a :cuppa: and took it upstairs to do some writing.

Came back downstairs to sit and watch the horseracing.

Had a lovely if slightly naughty luncheon of crisp sandwiches, a banana and a small pot of tea.

After, went off to the community orchard to take some photographs. A bit of a fail with the two rowan trees, as there's hardly anything on them. Will have to go elsewhere for that - probably the car park at the quack. But I had a very pleasant mooch around the orchard, ate some apples, picked some apples and took a load of photographs - easier said than done thanks to the unpredictable breeze and the hokey-cokey sunshine.

Stopped off at the book exchange and picked up a couple of cookery books - a River Cottage one and a baking one that has some lovely recipes in it. Also picked up a kiddie's picture book about Tabby McTat. I know, I know. And a couple of girlie novels that I'll read and then put back when I've finished with them.

Other than that, I've had a quiet evening listening to the cricket (Southern Brave won, yipeeeee!), dipping into the Proms and watching a few bits on catch up.

A naughty supper of a beanburger in a roll with salad, and triple-cooked chips.

Now sat with a :cuppa: and watching Bangers & Cash
