We had five minutes of rain all day. It was exactly the five minutes I was walking from the station to my house, which frankly seems a bit pointed.

Perfectly timed!

It's been a warm and sticky day here chez Casa Reynard that started grey, finished sunny and had some biblical rain in the middle.

Did not sleep well - I was still wide awake at 6am after a load of restless tossing and turning. I did drop off eventually, and managed about four and a half hours. As a result, I've felt really bleurgh today. So downstairs, fed the cat, made myself a :cuppa: and took it upstairs. Not in the right headspace to write, so caught up with some reading instead.

Did the chores. Brought the bins in.

Had a lovely luncheon of a bacon & avocado sandwich, an apple and a small pot of tea.

Although the tea was a bit of a palaver after my kettle went *fzzzzzzzzzt*. Judging by the stange ozone-y smell coming from the inside, I suspect the element called it quits. So a trek to the utility room cupboards to drag out the spare.

Which is one of those really old ones that look like a whistly kettle. But it's nice to have it.

Anyways, off to Tesco for a new kettle. Went like-for-like, and got £6 knocked off it on a clubcard offer. While I was there, I picked up butter and eggs as I was running a bit low, as well as a packet of wholemeal rolls and two packs of dog chews on YS. The latter being for Linda's two doggos.

I've had a quiet evening in front of the cricket on the TV.

Supper was a beanburger sandwich, and plum crumble & custard.

If she wants to continue meeting criminals I can think of a really good place for doing that. And then throw away the car keys as well. 24 points on her licence for speeding while taking her dog for walkies! I can think of better ways of dog walking than speeding in a car. She even managed to blame cyclists for making her go too fast.

I've finally made it to this bit of CycleChat after a very enjoyable day.

2 1/2 hour bike ride (37 miles with photo stops) in very warm but not excessively hot conditions followed by 3 pints of falling over water and a bowl of chips before the train home. Other than having a coffee, watching a few episodes of 'Bangers and Cash: Restoring Classics', snacking and swapping a few messages with my sister nothing whatsoever has been done since teatime.

There was almost a non-mundane moment when a couple of explosive sneezes happened at the same time a needing to fart while having a shower, but thankfully muscle control held steady.

Sat here watching one channel, adverts came on, and during that time the channel changed.
I didn't do a thing.
