Enjoying my visit to Whitby. Great fish and chips yesterday followed by a pirate boat trip, swim for MrsF then live music at The Abbey brewery. Been into the Abbey today for a live performance of Dracula (included in the admission fee). 90 minute show and it was great. You followed the actors round the Abbey.

Down the steps again (and up) and picked some steak up for tea. Bought some nice wine (again, bought a Dracula red yesterday which we will save @£29 a bottle). Also picked up ear rings and necklace for MrsF (our anniversary shortly) - silver dragonfly design using Amber rather than Whitby Jet. She'd walked passed them 3 times in the last two days and kept stopping to look. Skint now.

Good job the campsite was cheap

Saw this on the way home today: it's advertising a "Cover band festival". Personally I think the comment on Metallica is a bit rude. I mean they're getting on a bit these days, but... really.

It's been a much more clement but still warm day here chez Casa Reynard, starting cloudy but finishing sunny.

Did not sleep well at all despite being tired. It was too hot, too stuffy and couldn't get comfortable, so was still awake, tossing and turning at 6am. Managed to drop off and get about four hours. Bleurgh. So downstairs, fed the cat, made myself a :cuppa: and took it upstairs to chill in bed and watch the athletics.

When that was finished, did the chores and watched a bit of horse racing.

Had a lovely luncheon of a salmon & cucumber sandwich, a mini pork pie, greek yoghurt with greengages, and a small pot of tea.

Watched the Formula E from London, then decided to do something useful. In this case, clean the bathroom. Everything is now sparkling - except for the ceiling, because I can't find the feather duster. As it was nice and sunny by then, I then popped out down the road on the bike to take some photos of a nearby rowan tree.

Tasty supper of pasta with a sauce made from cherry tomatoes, basil and ricotta.

A quiet evening was had, watching the athletics from Birmingham on the TV and the speedway from Manchester (on the laptop).

I have no idea what the card's PIN is - I shredded the information as soon as it arrived.
? Unless its used solely online the PIN is going to be needed at some point as only a number of tapping transactions are allowed.

The credit card is reserved for high value online purchases only and therefore hasn't been used in a while. Everything else goes either on the debit card, Paypal linked to the debit card or doesn't get purchased.

That being said, I'm tempted to book a day trip to Leeds where they have the bike in stock as, at that price point, I want to confirm that the size & colour are correct for me. I'll then come home and get the 'second life' one on the website for £600 less and add in 10% British Cycling discount which brings it within my budget.

Today was so much better than last Saturday's race day. No interruptions, some fabulous historic racing machinery in good clean racing, an hour's mooch around the paddock and a classics filled public parking area, an unexpected flyby of a historic aircraft (DC3) and - most importantly - no M25/A282.

Time for a second beer.
