Filler applied to the surrounding gaps to the plasterboard insert on the wall where the fires back flue was, aka the draught source on a very windy day.
The heater that arrived yesterday appears faulty as it responds erratically to the control buttons and having set it target temp to 12 it promptly heated up from 18. Return request sent.
Afternoon 4.8 mile trek into town as one pair of last weeks new glasses were slipping down, and home via Tesco for apples and banana.

About time @Jenkins did you go for the Van Rysel ?
Yep - This One but with 20% off on their 'Second Life' (i.e. lightly used) scheme bringing under my strict £2500 budget. Despite looking at various others and coming close to the Giant Defy Advanced 1, this ticked all the boxes and with no upgrades required as it's already fitted with top kit.
All I need to do now is wait for it to arrive and then to start playing with the Di2 set-up.

A breezy 50k was ridden this afternoon followed by me slumping in the armchair with the football on the radio in the background prior to cooking gammon steak & spuds for tea. Nothing of note* has been done since and I'm slowly catching up with the day's events at Zandvoort.
I think an early hot chocolate will be had shortly.

*For me at least, but I've had to order another couple of Radar Keys for my stepfather as he as a habit of losing them. I will be dropping off the emergency spare I keep here for them on Sunday pending delivery of the replacements.

It's been a pleasant day here chez Casa Reynard, cloudy first thing, but developed into a lovely sunny afternoon and evening.

Sleep was middling. First couple of hours were restless as I just wasn't warm enough. So rather than furkling for another throw, the jim jams went back on, turning from lounging wear to nightwear. Slept rather better after that - it was really chilly overnight.

So downstairs, fed the cat, made a :cuppa: and took it back upstairs to do some writing. Also listened to the sprint race from Zandvoort.

Chores were done at a better hour, and then put my back into doing some cleaning. In the kitchen this time, as it's gotten rather cluttered and a bit tired in places.

Had a pot luck luncheon of pork pie, latkes and a bowl of breakfast cereal.

After watching various bits of sport on the telly and listening to the F1 qually, I took myself off into town for a nice bimble. Stopped off in Waitrose to pick up some more of those chilli and fennel sausages. Came home via the community orchard. Picked a few apples and took the photos that I didn't get around to doing the other day on account of the rain.

Had a lovely supper of Singapore noodles.

Now it's time for a :cuppa: and MOTD.
