Have you ever wondered why words which you would think would be alright to use on Countdown dont seem to exist yet strange foreign words which you have never heard of are acceptable? It seems that the Oxford Dictionary peeps can't be bothered to go any further than their neck of the woods and are gathering words in use from around the University area so they are getting a mixture of foreign languages.

I was thinking about the first bike I ever bought. I was 16 and I had saved up my wages and set off to buy the bike I really wanted at the time. Luckily the shops didn't have the one I wanted but when I saw the one which I did buy all thoughts about the original bike went completely out of my head. It was the way it looked, the colour scheme of bright silver and blue just made me want to buy it.
Fast forward 60 odd years and I was looking on the bay at Holdsworth cycles. I saw a Planet X Holdsworth Cyclone, it was made in the classic style in purple and red with polished stainless steel lugs. It was very attractive but was way too dear for me, I told my brother to have a look at the pictures. The next day my wife and I were at a classic car show,I had a phone call from my brother to say that he had bought it! We are in Wiltshire and it was in Dartford! I said to him that I only meant him to look at it!
Am I jealous?

Good morning from sunny Suffolk. Coffee has been had while the radio plays in the background time shifted yet again (only 45 minutes behind today) and a load of washing is on the go powered by the sunshine. Yet another hour's worth of free electricity from Octopus today which will be used to fill the battery and the system has been set to discharge the battery to the grid first to gain a few extra pennies of credit.

Not a lot to do today other than to drop the spare Radar Key off for my stepfather, so I'll probably make that part of a leisurely bike ride.

Odd experience while hanging out the washing a couple of minutes ago - almost complete silence with just the sound of the neighbour's water fountain to be heard. Still air so no breeze rustling the tree, no sound carrying up from the dock in one direction or the A14 in the other, nothing from the local playing field, no trains, no planes overhead and no birds either.

Weird.
