It's been a warm and humid day here chez Casa Reynard, and though rain and thunderstorms were forecast, no sign of either.
Sleep was so-so. Could've been worse, could've been better. Downstairs, fed the cat, made a
and took it upstairs to do some writing. Back on the novel again today, working on some of the backstory.
Chores done at a better hour. As it was dry, I went out and spent the rest of the morning gardening. I actually did far more than I'd hoped (wow, it looks so tidy!) and the green bin is now choca. Have to wait till next Wednesday for it to be emptied, but there's plenty of other stuff I can do outside, weather permitting.
Had a lovely luncheon of a cheese salad roll and a small pot of tea.
I'd planned today on the basis that it was meant to be hosing with rain. It never did, but I didn't fancy doing any gardening or cleaning, so stuck to the original. Which was to take myself off to the big Lidl in Downham Market for a bit of a mooch as they had their Eastern European and Italian offers on. Stocked up on herrings and provolone cheese, and also picked up coleslaw, bread and pierogi on yellow sticker. Bought a giant tub of chicken & cheese cat treats for Madam Boo and a chocolate cronut for me.
Almost succumbed to a middle-of-lidl buy of a popcorn maker (it is something I have wanted for a while) but didn't have enough cash on me. They'll "pop up" in the Christmas gift ranges anyway, and I'd rather use us some gift vouchers I have to buy one.
Came home and did the final chores - scoop the tray and water all the planters as we'd had no rain.
Supper was homemade currywurst and rice.
I have the chocolate cronut for later.
