Morning. In slightly less than mundane news, the local council has decided to start collecting paper/cardboard every two weeks again, rather than once a month to 'help' people recycle. Whooooo


Nope, you stopped collecting, so bins got rammed/we had to drive to the tip to take cardboard. They don't collect bins unless the lids are fully shut now.

Glub, glub, glub... Hello, is that Mr Noah? I'd like to see you about a boat... Yeah, it's been very wet here today chez Casa Reynard.

Slept well, and overslept massively. Went out like a light last night and got over nine hours - I think the extra layer on the bed helped there. Mind you, Madam Boo was still asleep too. Anyways, downstairs, fed the cat, made myself a and took it upstairs to do some writing and listen to the cricket.

Have had a slow day as my get-up-and-go has gotten up and buggered off. Lady issues incoming. Did the chores, and have largely spent my time reading and writing.

Had a lovely if random luncheon of the last mini pork pie, a packet of crisps, some bread, butter & cheese, and a small pot of tea.

The afternoon was spent much the same way as the morning. Also caught up on a couple of bits on the i-player.

A slightly naughty supper of sourdough waffles and home made cherry jam.

An equally quiet evening is planned.

One thing I didn't realise until I was out in it this afternoon was how warm and humid it had got - my glasses kept steaming up when I stopped at junctions & lights. A quick break was taken in the town centre on the way out to pick up my first free large hot chocolate courtesy of Octopus Rewards in a long time.

In the end I had a couple of hours before tea time playing with the basic set-up of the new toy with a lap of the close after each adjustment and then a whole 1.25 mile test ride once the basics had been sorted. A few longer loops are needed to fine tune the handlebar position, get used to and possibly change the flappy paddle functions and I need to see how I get on with the saddle or see if it's possible to fit my preferred Charge Spoon (there's a weird clamp set-up on the seat post). Please let it be dry on Friday.

I may need one of those to get the oversized cardboard box the bike was delivered in into the recycling bin. Even if I use a Stanley knife to cut it into smaller pieces.

The cheaper option is to stand on top of the bin and push what's in the bin down.

They can bring their own issues though. If the rubbish doesn't leave the bin when emptied, there's less room afterwards.
