Flick of the Elbow

Pentlands Water of Leith
Back from a damp little wander that ended with a loop around Heriot Watt. Very quiet, students obviously not back yet.

B&Q about an hour ago.
Unable to find one of those wire scraper devices for raking out between paving slabs. I asked a likely looking B&Q employee if they had any. She didn't know but thought there were some in the storage area.
Off she toddled. Time passed. Then more time drifted slowly past. Finally out the corner of my eye I spotted her.

Atop some steps 20m away dealing with wall paper🤯

To be fair she didn't actually SAY she would go and look.

Got the shopping done early while the washing machine was finishing off which was a good thing as the wind was picking up and drizzle started as I got home. As a result the washing is currently drying on the clothes horse in the spare room. The overnight bag has also been sorted and all that needs to be decided is whether a light fleece will be required or not - probably not as I'll be indoors most of the day.

I have managed to run the mower over what is left of my lawns, so at least the various weeds have all been cut back and the debris from next door's tree has been picked up. I hope there's no sudden grass growth spurt in the rest of September as I think the mower's next outing will be to the recycling centre for disposal given the noises it was making.

Take a flask?
I've never tried filling one from a coffee machine and I doubt that the small flask I have would keep it warm until the morning.
Buy a travel kettle.
It'll not be the only time you use it on future trips.
I have no intention of using one of these 'Hub' hotels again, or anywhere else that doesn't have in room facilities. I wouldn't even be using this one if it wasn't for London being the only UK date for the band I'm seeing.
