I don't think it's is just that, I think it is to do with how the frame was designed.

Good morning all, the wind of the last few days has been replaced with cloud and slight dampness. Still mild though. Enjoyed watching the time trials at the Worlds yesterday, very considerate of the UCI and Canadian authorities to arrange them for our Sunday afternoon and evening. I wonder if we will be so lucky with the road races next weekend.
Also, speaking of weekends, I very much enjoyed the return of Strictly on Saturday, to me the so-called celebrities are mostly random people off the street but the new presenting team hit the ground running I thought. Looking forward to the first proper show next week.

Surprisingly mild today, WFH, but have been outside to fill the recycling before it's collected later. Feeling 'achy' all over so hoping it's not a bug as we're off camping on Friday - likely the last 'camp' of the year as it can get rather changeable from now on in.

Tick tock slowly goes the clock.Suitcases and shoulder bags are down in the hallway,as i type 45 mins till crew bus or whatever arrives,then a luxury ride to a Heathrow Airport Hotel,food drinks stop or stops on the way down.I am so excited even at my age.

I've read some reports of some bikes giving a smooth ride but you don't really know how smooth is smooth until you ride a bike which makes your previously smooth riding bike seem harsh! It is a bit surprising when the bike turns out to have an aluminium frame which are supposed to give a harsh ride! The bike is my Fausto Coppi K14 with a carbon front fork. There is one particular bit on my ride which I dread going over. It is just a small narrow groove running across a road, but if you hit it it feels like it's going to knock your fillings out, but on my Coppi it's, ooh! Was that it? The tyres are 25mm ones which don't give any cushioning.

I ride 25/26mm tyres on almost all of my road bikes.

The 'smooth ride' effect is probably best on the Carrera Virago Magnesium despite it being over 25 years old - I wonder whether it's a combination of the frame material and the carbon fork? OK, so I know the frame will crack spectacularly at some point - hopefully not at a critical downhill / similar - but I'll be riding it over the autumn/winter.

In contrast the NeilPryde Nazaré may be much faster but the ride is very harsh.

Gym session complete. Now off to visit with cousin who's staying nearby with his behemoth caravan. Lunch with them and then a walk. Italian restaurant nearby booked for the evening

This morning had a vaguely ''back to work'' feel about it. I suppose it is equinox week after all. So, anyway, I managed to wrestle back £40 from Currys Customer (Denial of) Service and I'm now feeling quite proud of myself. It did take me 3 1/2 mugs of tea though.
