Just changed the batteries in the TV remote. Not quite dead, and giving them a slight warming in the hand got the remote working again.

Isn't that also known as the basement?
Didn't realise they'd rooms down there.

'Lower Ground Floor' is the hotel's terminology even though it's not even the ground floor let alone a basement as there's a ground level car park underneath the hotel. Even the ground floor is above a restaurant above the car park.
Street view image to show the layout, I was on the other side which looks on to a retaining wall for the rising ground into town.

A quiet evening has been had with a quick update to my bank account spreadsheets so I know how much spending money I will have left for the rest of the month. The main account still has 1 credit and 4 debits to be made this month so looking at the account balance online for that one is no good.

Time for this evening's hot chocolate.
been years since I've had some. how do you make yours?
This one will be made by nuking some milk, adding Cadbury's drinking chocolate powder and then another short nuking.
The daytime ones are made with Options instant powder and hot water.

Today's mundane news is that a kind friend took me to get my bank account sorted after the bleep bleep bank of Basque origin imposed a requirement to file proof that I was the owner of my account. We then popped into a department store nearby where I was glad to find a laptop that would work better for me in future and her husband later helped me work out why my wifi router wasn't working and to install the new one recently sent when I was ill and the local telegraph pole was altered so that local telephones needed to be digital.

Happy days and much gratitude to them since they drove me home and gave me time to have a rest after the morning excursion and then came back again for the second round of help.

Bowlocks - I've just realised it's my Dad's birthday on Wednesday. Don't know how I missed the upcoming date other than by being busy with everything else. Looks like he'll just be getting a card once I've been into town in the morning.
