Mrs C. said something to me just now. I replied ... What potatoes ?

TRAITORS ! Was her reply.

I think Im going deaf. This is not the first time.🫤
You can do a few good things with potatoes though. Not so certain about the traitors.

It's been a mild and mostly sunny day here today here chez Casa Reynard after a soggy start.

Slept well and overslept. Downstairs, fed the cat, made myself a :cuppa: and took it upstairs to do some writing. Also caught up on some reading.

Chores done at a better hour. Then had a kitchen morning. Made a batch of marmalade, made the levain for a loaf of bread, and then did the prep for supper. Also washed up all the utensils resulting from said kitchen morning.

Had a lovely luncheon of toast with pate and englishman's foot cheese, a minneola and a small pot of tea.

Then outside to do some more lumberjilling. I hadn't intended to, but looking at next week's forecast, I figured I'd better make the best of the dry afternoon. Two more large wheelbarrows of logs have been stashed in the garage. I also took some time to clear the area where I chose to work today with loppers, as the skittled tree is all tangled up with ivy and elder.

Have had a lovely evening catching up on the cycling from Shanghai. Whooooo, that men's points race was a belter!

Fabby supper of broccoli & stilton soup, and pasta alla putanesca.

A quiet rest-of-the-evening is planned.

New work mobile day. Annoying thing has fingerprint recognition that doesn't. Fiddled around with the settings and seem to have killed that as its now working off the power button being pressed rather than lightly tapped wirh a finger.
Then a work visit and immediately found a completely grid locked A59. Whilst it notorious for beind very slow this was plainly something amiss and so it turned out

View attachment 824751 Bemused how that was achieved in the morning peak.
Sun gave way to hail early afternoon.

Looks like the tie-rods gave way, allowing the one front wheel to be straight while the other front wheel went into business for itself. Don't know if it was before or after the incident.

:hello: From Nottingham wherea very good day has been had. Arrived on time, a couple of drinks before booking in to the hotel and then off to Rock City for an early-ish gig as they convert it into a nightclub after 22:00.

Well over 90 minutes of superb music by Courtney Barnett and her band and then a stop at a pub for a pint on the way back to the hotel. I'm sure the kiddies on a night out were louder than the band.

Currently having a hot chocolate and a snack with possibly a beer to follow before bedtime.
