It was just the other day that I noticed how much the position of the sunrise has altered over the past few days. As a reference point I was using our next doors house. It used to rise one side of the house and now it rises well to the front of the house. I wonder if the peeps at Stone Henge used to do a similar thing.

Good morning from a 6th floor hotel room in sunny Nottingham. This morning's view is over the rooftops to the city centre.

Unusually for a stay here a full cooked breakfast has been had and is being allowed to settle before I head to the train station within the next 15 minutes. The main reason for breakfast is that I have no idea when I'll be home - there's a bus replacement between Peterborough and Ely which will add at least one hour to the trip depending on which way I go.

And a good morning from a ground floor front room in sunny Nottingham. Catching up on yesterday's track events before settling in for today's coverage. Still waiting for Mrs Poacher to surface so I can prepare buttermilk pancakes, fruit compote and Greek yoghurt for breakfast.

Morning from a 5th floor flat in sunny London. Chilly though.

I've never been a fan of Nottingham since, way back in the day when hitch-hiking was a cheap and cheerful way of getting around the country, I watched a very long succession of the most miserable-looking people I had ever seen. Who didn't stop either.

So, that must be almost 50 years ago. Still haven't been back.

Handing it in, it appears to have been one of a few similar ones left in similar places today.

Back home now. A9 very busy with presumably end of half term traffic and the usual roadworks but otherwise uneventful. Called in at House of Bruar en route for tonight’s tea.
