And home and hour later than planned and a much needed coffee just made. Only just missed the connection at Liverpool Street after a brisk walk from Waterloo following a much delayed departure from Southampton. Both London stations had forces bands playing as part of the R.B.L. London poppy day.

Remarkably warm in the sunshine today.

Fencing people are half-way through the job. Given the chaos earlier so far it's looking excellent.

that's a lot of work. I wish them & you well! are they using anything in the post holes? concrete? gravel? dirt? expandable Styrofoam? is it vinyl fence or pressure treated wood?

I sell fencing at my part-time job. I've watched fence installs. I have fond memories at 6-7 yrs old watching workmen install fencing. some very specific memories of talking to the men, asking questions & their answers. funny how now that I'm older I'm realizing what youth experiences have led to what adult pastimes & work

when I was a kid, we had a cat that loved to climb the wooden fencing. we had 2 types. split rail in front & tall stockade for the back yard

Not quite mundane. But i have decided to pack in cycling.I have just decided this afternoon. Not had a decent ride since the Lymphoma cancer three years ago,how time passes. This heart problem is a little reason also the hiatus hernia.I must say my training about 175 miles on the turbo on the lawn, does not prepare you for the stop starts ups and downs of a proper road.I did struggle on some of the short 20 mile rides, the best ride was the Leeds and Liverpool canal tow path ride with my daughter,no trouble on that. But the others put me out, gasping and thumping head.I have to see Cardiology in three weeks or so.But i always sit winter out so i will be 77 in February and i think getting fit in 2027 will be too much. It's been great but we all retire in the end.I have told my son because i have taken off my name decals off the frame and i asked him if i could buy him some so he could 'claim' the bike.I started cycling during my divorce to fill in the empty lonely hours,i formed a works team and did sponsored bike rides,Ten years we were together and donated £14,000 over those ten years, got our mugs in the morning Yorkshire Post once.I have been to and seen some fabulous places Langstrothdale being my very favourite, well i have the photos and memories,i also think i have a bit of depression because of the home circumstances i hate to say that.Anyway i will stay on here as a non cycling member.

They've got concrete in the holes with concrete posts and concrete bottom panels / gravel boards. Some are new posts/panels, some are existing and have been re-fitted to make them solid. It's a big job and the front definitely stands out compared to other houses: we've the biggest house on the street and I'm trying to make it look a bit better. Note that I live in Dewsbury: houses here are much cheaper than average, so you get more house for your money.

The fence panels are double-sided 'hit and miss' treated wooden panels to let wind get through, as it can get really windy here.

Once this project's done we've ridge tiles to do and then I'm looking at the driveway being done next year.
