It's been a chilly grey day here chez Casa Reynard, where the fog never truly lifted.

Slept well and overslept massively.. Woke up just before midday, with a very anxious Madam Boo yelling at me wondering where her breakfast was. So downstairs, fed the cat, made myself a :cuppa: and took it upstairs to do a bit of writing. While I have been away, I have untangled most of the mess I'd made of this chapter, and have almost finished it. It's involved some research around pre-war monoposto racing cars and classical piano pieces.

As I overslept, decided to skip luncheon and head out lumberjilling. Finished clearing up the dead bullaces - the quality of the wood is not very good, but is still suitable for logs. Just. Found that Austen / Boelo has skittled a large cherry tree not too far from where I was clearing up the bullaces, so made a start on that. But only a start, as my chainsaw threw a wobbly.

It just cut out on me. Let it cool down, then tried to restart. Revs like blazes with the choke out, but then, when I let the choke in it just sputters and cuts out. There's a limit to how many times you can try to start it before it floods, so will try again tomorrow. I'm not terribly confident servicing two-strokes, so will need a think / some advice if the problem persists. OK, the chain isn't as sharp as it could be, so is generating a lot of dust. So I shall have a go at it with the vacuum cleaner. Start with the simple things.

It was 4pm by the time I had cleared up and stashed the logs in the garage. So that was me done for the day. Had a very late luncheon of a chicken & bacon sandwich, some salted pretzels, a banana and a small pot of tea.

Listened to Liverpool v Arsenal. An entertaining listen and a good result.

Also listened the GP and watched MOTD. Now watching Chiefs v Broncos.

Not terribly hungry, so just had a bowl of porridge with apple & blueberries for supper.

Still no hot water, and heating is now coming on skewed 12 hours to when it should. Something's futzed the signal - I suspect turning on the internet on my phone to send messages. Normally my phone is linked to the wi-fi. Will be making an appointment for an engineer to come out and prod the system. I've got the fire, so storage heater issues aren't a biggie. It's the lack of hot water. Brrr!

If it runs on full choke but not when it is off it seems to point to fuel starvation. The revs are increased and fuel to air mixture is increased with the choke out so I would start looking at the carburettor and fuel feed.

Morning.
Sunshine, blue and cloudy sky.
I just had a look to see how my bike frame is progressing. Depressing! Farcelporce48. Days? Nov 5th ? It must be taking longer as it doesn't have wheels.

4 washing machines, four dryers for about 50 flats. There was a problem a while back where outsiders managed to get themselves into and used our communal facilities to get themselves a free wash but we now have a key card system which has made things a lot quieter.
They're not all dryers you own then?

Good morning from Suffolk where it's started to cloud over after a sunny start to the day. The washing machine is currently dealing with a load of cycling clothing thanks to the early sunshine charging the house battery.

A bit of a late start after a much needed good night's sleep and a strong coffee to kick start my system. Not much needs to be done today other than to change the location of the solar powered battery maintainer in the car - normally it's left on the dashboard, but from now until mid spring the sun's direction and where I park my car means it needs to be propped up against the back window to get any direct sunshine.

So long as the showers hold off I also need to go out and get a jar of small chunk pickle. There wasn't any in Morrison's when I went shopping on Saturday and ham, cheese & pickle rolls aren't the same without the pickle as I discovered yesterday.
