Flick of the Elbow

Pentlands Water of Leith, Midlothian as was
A grey and slightly damp day here. Did the cleaning then headed off on my Vagabond, a mostly off road route taking in a hot chocolate at the Two Pines in Auchendinny, a loop around Roslynlee, and a return home through Flotterstone and over Maidens, 24 miles. Have now had lunch. My diary for the rest of the day is unusually busy, I have a call with the IFA at 3, an ear wax appointment at the chemist at 4, and a Pentland Book Festival event this evening, this being a talk by noted Borders author Alistair Moffat.

With the exception of about 5 minutes of sunshine in total this afternoon, it's been a day of cloud cover of various shades of grey.

The recycling bin was retrieved and retuned to its normal slot by the back door and this was followed by a morning of pottering around doing absolutely nothing. I've had a quick trip up to Ipswich this afternoon to check with the installers of my solar panels & battery as to what's required to have it take over from the grid in the case of a power cut (they're getting back to me once they've checked the specs of my system) and that's it for the day.

An instant hot chocolate is currently being had.

Next door are now on cowboy day 4, she so pleased with the work they've now started working on even more. All the path round the house has gone and the front steps and what was her current drive. The way they set too with the jack hammer was :eek:. I know some one who even with toe capped boots lost half his foot due a freak accident when using one. Using one with trainers and at time's one handed is asking for it.
The big boss is due today for the money so another change for even more charm. I'm still waiting for them to sort the mess round the back, which since I've found inc a large deep chunk of path that they but a fence post though. If it's not sorted its getting reported to the council as a repair. They can then bill them for it. The company it runs out are well known locally and lords know how they get good reviews on check a trade.
