The PDF map looks like a good start, interesting how many were for a single lane roundabout.
I am not sure about a segregated cycle track around the outside, after seeing what they have done with the CS2 extension, I am not sure they could do it properly...

The raised zebras seemed like a nice idea, and not really an issue for me on my bike.

Shared areas with pedestrians are not my favoured facilites I will admit...

Yeh, through the raised central bit of the south side of the roundabout is a cycle lane that cuts through it but it looks more awkward than going round the thing properly.

Interestingly TFL had a consultation on improving the layout of the north side, they drew up plans, different stakeholders offered suggested improvements and instead of taking anything them on board, they just scrapped the whole thing and decided to do nothing. This is how TFL spends the revenue generated from those fare increases...

I know you can't account for buffoons but taking primary was what got my bike smashed last week and with regards to the whole roundabout issue, thankfully it's only lambeth bridge and parliament square that I really have to deal with - P'ment square doesn't seem too bad really...

That middle thing looks plain pointless every time I look at it.. Nothing wrong in walking the bridge at all, probably quicker than if you were in a car. Btw, do you have to deal with P Square or can you avoid it by whipping round the backstreets? (Which is what I usually do.)

I used to go the back streets, e.g. via Tufton Street, Great Smith Street and past the Central Hall but I found that going that way involves more lights, the streets are narrower but still full of HGV's, buses etc and then there's the cobbled street outside the Hall (not great to ride over at the best of times and very slippy when wet). Going via Millbank & P'ment Sq. is a bit more straightforward and a lot quicker.

However, I do use the back streets coming home as I don't want to go round P Square on the other side - I might give it a try at some point though.

Fair do's. Another thng with those cobbles is they're laid all wrong for cycling. They're not offset (like bricks in a wall) so a tyre can get into a groove which one has to be careful about.

You notice how everyone rides the painted yellow line? (when there's not a taxi or something parked up)

I have had no issues with parliament square roundabout, either coming from Victoria Embankment and going to Millbank, or in the opposite direction (Millbank to Victoria Embankment).

Isn't Lambeth birdge a proposed location for the new Dutch-style cycle roundabout that was tested earlier in the year? Is that ever going to happen, or are they still arguing about the legalities?

Glad it's all sorted, but he does sound like a bit of a prat. Hope he's learnt to be more careful and observant.

So 2 weeks later.... my bike is now ready, took ages for Brompton to send over the spare parts required. I have to pay £20 more than quoted for some cables but it's wear & tear and I'm not gonna go back to wotsit to try and get the extra off him.

So, I'll pick it up when I leave work and cycle it home...
