When I was about 15, I went to see a girl I really liked on a bike with a broken pedal. I pedalled about 5kms with just the right leg. I was young and foolish then.
Did you need to walk home ?

There is nothing more hilarious than watching someone on a fixed manically bobbing up and down because one foot has disengaged.
And why was the girl on a bike with a broken pedal? When I was about 15, I went to see a girl I really liked on a bike with a broken pedal. I pedalled about 5kms with just the right leg. I was young and foolish then.
, so why wouldn't the one that was already on my shoe click in?
The cleats are Shimano SM-SH51 by the way.
It's not funny when you end up on the deck as a result and get hurt however...Watching someone who CAN'T disengage their foot from a pedal 'cos their cleat has worked loose is almost as funny...![]()
I rode back as well!Did you need to walk home ?

It happened to me, new shoes, new cleatsNo, that wouldn't be funny. Thankfully the person I witnessed was ok.
I was going to suggest that, having had it happen to me before. As well as dirty or worn/damaged, as @fossyant suggests, it might also be a loose bolt. If the cleat bolt is not properly seated this can affect clipping in and out.
