Hi all, a recent blog post of mine about my cross-country trip next year, just for a bit of fun (but surely you all already know this as you all follow along religiously - right?)
I've been thinking about writing this post for a while, just for a bit of fun! Everyone has their own bucket list, mostly these lists cover and span the entirety of their lives. I've one of those too, I just haven’t written it down as it is ever-changing as I think about all of the things that I want to do, the places I want to go and the things that I want to see.
But, since next year’s trip will hopefully come to fruition, and it will hopefully be own “alma mater”, my own trip of a lifetime and a journey of self-discovery, I've decided to do an individual bucket list of the things I want to do and see, eat and drink, as I cross Canada!
So, there you have it! A fairly short list, I think I'm missing a few things. But not quite sure what. For you Canadians out there - or Brits that have travelled to Canada - let me know if there's anything obvious missing, and I'll gladly add it!
Cheers,
Jack.

- Reach the Pacific Ocean, and dip the back tyre of my bike in the water. (This had to be on the list… Even if I don’t make it next year, I’ll do it someday).
- Eat a cinnamon bun from Cinnabon. Apparently, these things are to-die-for and HUGE. It’s just one big massive melting bun of cinnamon and sweetness and sugar and more sugar – what’s not to love?
- See Niagara Falls. (I’ve seen them before, but perhaps they’ll be more spectacular the next time around as I’ll have gotten there under my own steam).
- See the Rockies. (They are apparently one of the most beautiful things in this world. I want to experience that. Plus, it’ll be quite the climb!)
- Visit Wawa, Ontario. It has a special meaning for my grandmother, whom, ever since I was little, I have always called “Wah-Wah”.
- Take a selfie at a couple (if not all) of our “World’s Largest/Biggest/Tallest… etc”. We have plenty of those here!
- Do ‘the Edgewalk’ at the CN Tower! (I will likely not be able to afford it!)
- Experience true natural beauty.
- Do one ‘Random Hang’ in every province that I cycle through. (For more information on ‘Random Hanging’, check out the Twitter page!)
- WWOOF at least three times on my journey!`
- Meet up with all of the people that I’ve agreed to meet up with as I cross the country! (You guys, you know who you are – I’m coming for you!)
- Experience Canada Day in a truly Canadian way! (Whatever that might entail…)
- Rest on July 2nd, after said Canada Day antics.
- Embrace the headwinds. (After I run out of offensive things to call them! – That may take a while.)
- Fall in love with this country all over again, have a fantastic adventure and build my life from it.
So, there you have it! A fairly short list, I think I'm missing a few things. But not quite sure what. For you Canadians out there - or Brits that have travelled to Canada - let me know if there's anything obvious missing, and I'll gladly add it!
Cheers,
Jack.
