Yep - from 6k to 7k but might push it up again to 7.5 or 8

I know from the past two years that December is a bad month for cycling for me.
So I aim to reach my target before December arrives which means everything in December will be a bonus.

my target was 4000 miles, I just missed it last year, but will hopefully make it this year.

I dont have one of those green tracker bars that you all have but I keep a spreadsheets which says I have done 2023 miles so far.

my target was set at 10,000 miles. At the moment I am behind due to being off the bike for 3 weeks due to an ongoing knee problem. But pretty sure that I will reach the target. In fact I have to reach it as I have done 10,000 miles a year for the past 3 years.

No, I am refusing to up my target this year. Yes, I know I will beat it, but, if I up it, I will become stupidly addicted again and I am very happy doing this current target as it allows me to do other stuff without worrying I will fall behind. And besides, to anyone thats not 'us', 6000 miles a year is way more than enough.

And... its all about prep for the LEL next year, so I am not wishing to burn myself out, what happened at the beginning of this year.

And... its about the enjoyment of those miles, not the miles covered.

Had to go out the last 2 days of the year in the rain to make last years target, fortunately December was Ok so managed to get there Ok.
Same target this year (5200) and am well ahead so far, not changing it though as you never know what the winter will bring :cold:

Seems you atrying to convince yourself of these facts! ^_^

I am not on my Cycling log but my Target in Garmin is 6k, looks like I will beat it but I am TOTALLY with you on the bold statment, 6k for me represents an addicition from a starting point of close to zero. I have been accused of being OTT with my miles.. In fact I even created a thread about it.. http://www.cyclechat.net/threads/occd-i-think-i-have-it-do-you.103196/

Most cycling i ever done in a year was last year and that was 878 miles, so this year i thought i would make a "difficult" target of 1500 and i have almost done 1000 already and very pleased with that, im sure i will smash the target but i want to see how much by and make that my target for next year

You have the best cycling months still to do as well, always find July, August, September and for some reason October are good cycling months.
