There's me cycling along a road I know well but taking a slightly different route to normal. I was approaching a traffic lights where I normally turn left, only this time I wanted to turn right. So look behind, give a big signal, move to position to turn right. Lights are red so slow down on approach and notice bus pulling along side, driver opens window and says "Can you no read, No right turn!", I look up and sure enough there on the traffic light a No Right Turn sign ;)

It is so easy not to look for these things when you think you know the road, my mistake, thank you Bus driver for pointing it out.

I saw a massive queue the other day (tram works/ gas works or just an excuse to dig up the roads again). It didn't look safe to overtake so I indicated into the road on the left, its a road I've taken in the past many moons ago but subsequently they've made it oneway (no entry) so I decided to wait in the queue instead.

Whoops.

I do a no right turn at a set of signals on my commute. It does say "except cycles" underneath, but it seems a lot of drivers don't read that bit, and so I get yelled at quite often.

don't or can't? ;) I have exactly the same problem going straight on at a crossroads (buses and cycles only) with the rest of the traffic going left or right.

You made a mistake. It's no big deal.
true enough, but if it weren't for the bus driver he might have found himself making unexpected contact with fast heavy motorised vehicles driven by people suffering from 'cycle blindness'
