Relax... you have probably just discovered the blind spot we all have on our retinas. The bit over the optic nerve can't pick up light so there's a small blind spot. Most of the time both blind spots are cancelled out by the opposite eye, which supplies the missing information but in certain circumstances you can see it, there's a good explanation of it here: http://www.tedmontgomery.com/the_eye/optcnrve.html

tiredness can be the cause of a lot of eye concerns, I once went for an eye test cos objects about 30 yards away where always blurred, they said my eyes are perfect, that I am just tired!

I have had something similar. I noticed it when i was seeing what was on tv, and words/letters werent there. Had it 2 times. One time it was after a quick ride in the morning, after i had eaten some good food(beef casserole:smile:) everything was fine. The second time i went to bed for a few hours and when i woke up i was fine.

I First peripheral vision went on one side, then the other, then a bit spotty, then it began to clear and then the headache hit.

Same happened to me. and it had to be the day I was teching for a school production.

I've had the same. In fact I've had lots of things. The first thing to do is rest - lying down in a darkened room, comfortable temperature, cool sheets, naked. Then get girlfriend to put on skimpy nurses uniform, and play doctors and nurses for a while. After a sleep you'll feel a lot better. The next day you can sit up, reclining in dappled summer shade with a picture book would be ideal. Not too much text and certainly no computer screens. If after all this the eyes are still not right see an optician. Also remember to eat lots of carrots.

I've had it too a number of times. It always starts as a small dot in the centre of my vision within which I can see nothing, it then grows and moves to the peripheral vision. It's like zig zaggy fuzzy vision. After about 45 mins, it fades away. I don't get headaches after.

If it is this, then it is a migrane.

I've just googled to check this - and discovered a some art which depicts it........

anyway, it wouldn't be that coz when that happens you ;) straight away

Do you take St. John's Wort? If so, a relative of mine suffered irreversible eye damage resulting in permanent reduction of vision due to taking this herbal medicine.

Isn't buggi female?

On second thoughts, let's not worry about that tiny detail - great idea ;)!
