Thanks to all of you for your help, advice and encouragement, I completed my first 100 Km on Saturday morning and I am well chuffed.

It almost ended prematurely though. About half way into it, I popped a jelly baby in my mouth. At that moment I saw my first fellow cyclist of the morning. I raised a hand & went to say "morning", but sucked the jelly baby down my throat . All that came out was a squeeky Donald duck sound & I started to choke

. I coughed and spluttered until a purple jelly shot out and I could breathe again.

Apart from that, it went better than expected with a 16mph average.
Next challenge is the coast to coast for the Dorset air ambulance and then I want to do 100 miles before August.
