Tescos are flogging rechargeable lanterns (9W fluorescent tube variety) for £13 at the moment. Bought one earlier this week and seems pretty reasonable for the money.

I've bought those solar garden lights from tescos to plant around the tent!??? Thought they might stop us tripping over ropes in the night.

Yep - people who've been through being a novice appreciate having some entertainment laid on watching other campers struggle to put up their tent.;)

Millets sell a small collapsible wind up light that seems to give out a reasonable amount of light for general lighting (not to read by). Torch for each kid and fleeces (easy to wash/dry), clothing that is dark/old, footware for the wet- flip flops/crocs/wellies. Football/kites for kiddie entertainment - wine for you (that can help with noise issues too).
.

The small collapsible light is something like £29.99, or £26.99, and has 20% off at the moment.
Its a good light, we have one.
Comes with a plug so you can plug it into the car on the way to the site.
Has a 9 or 15 LED setting, and can be wound up. So when you use it at night and your abit bored the next day you can sit there winding up.

In the caravan we always watch people turn up. See them mess up the reversing, then see them try and set up the awning and other bits.
That kills abit of time:becool:

That's the one, we also bought one of those UFO lights recently - about 24 led in a flat circle - we have yet to try that one out ...
