I was out about a week and a half ago on my roadbike with a strong headwind. About 300 metres ahead I saw a man with a high viz jacket and a touring bike with panniers come out of a side road ahead of me. He seemed to be making heavy weather and I quickly overhauled him and he tucked in behind. Two miles and about 3 junctions later he was still there, when he turned off. I thought the beggar wasn't struggling at all - he saw me coming and was hanging on to hitch a lift!
