My first fall, and it's going to hit the pocket

Ouch;bits can be replaced you can't though.

Had an off myself earlier this year but I came off worse than the bike:rolleyes:;plus I damaged a brand new Sportful hot pack gilet and a Castelli jersey.

As others have said though there's always some good deals kicking about and if you are in no hurry you can just get some bits here and there;I'd be tempted to get the frame properly checked out though especially if it was hit by other bikes and bodies.

I think Castelli have a crash replacement service which might save you a few £

I hope you feel OK today. The day after is the key I reckon. If you are mobile it means you just have superficial damage. If you're struggling it means it'll take a while to heal.

I'm mobile but my shoulder is a bit tender. I'm planning on taking my time in getting the Giant on the road again. I'm on the lookout for bargain replacements and in the meantime will be out on Le Pug.

I'm asking around for a good seamstress to convert my NoRain bibtights into bibshorts as the damage is below the right knee. Pointless throwing away if I can get something out of it.

I've emailed Endura to ask if they have anything in place for replacement discounts as I bought it on Saturday and ripped it on Sunday. Also mentions my ripped Endura branded Club shirt as we order quite a bit of gear off them.

My local Giant dealer has mech hangers for a tenner but their mechs are WAAAAY overpriced.

Top and bottom of it, I'm not put off by the fall and will be out this weekend

Good stuff on not being put off. Not sure if you've had a chance to check out the bike damage yet but as mentioned by a couple of others you might be surprised at what you find. The shifters nearly always just get displaced and the same for the rear mech. I've had similar-sounding offs - not to say I do it regularly ;) and the shifters were scuffed but not a lot worse and the rear mech hanger bent, but that's a 20 quid replacement.

Good stuff. Get back up and riding.

Were you out today? Saw a few lads from your club this morning, apparently doing the Cyclone B route. Were you one of them @Kevoffthetee ?

Cheers.

Not today, although the weather was fantastic and I wish I was out. I was have "quality" family time. That's wife speak for 'your not fixing your bike so even if you wanted to you cant go out on it'

Sounds familiar .

My sons football match was cancelled this morning so I managed to take advantage of the break in the weather and get out for an hour or so.... :bicycle:.

Glad you are not feeling too bad Kev - I was puddle dodging the other day and it's not easy in this weather especially with the roads as they are.

Good thinking re the bib tights to shorts - hope you get them and your bike sorted. :okay:

The bike repair is on hold until ALL xmas shopping has been done so I'm on Le Pug until further notice, not necessarily a bad thing.

I can get a right hand shifter but I'll be ebaying for a pair as I need hoods and name plates for the LHS. I'm also after a saddle and matching green bar tape and tyres so new year is treat time
