This was my first fixed, sometime in the late 1980's if I remember right

That is a really nice set up although you may need at least one brake which is what Fussyaunt is alluding to.
As this is your first fixed wheel experience the gearing might be a bit high so get yourself some spare sprockets.

A tiagra brake and diacompe lever is coming, he just didn't fit it.

Turned up today. After work I went out for a 5-6miles spin. Works fine but a did try and freewheel a few times. My next door neighbour had a go as well (cyclist) and is now on the hunt to buy one!
