Tbh it wasn't really a biggie and probably wasn't worth reporting, but this driver today really annoyed me.
I was cycling home, my usual route and a couple of cars passed -both too close really but not dangerously so, just annoying. But the second's passenger had the window down and after looking me up and down as he was alongside me, chucked his rubbish out at me.
It didn't hit me, and I would've let it go but for the fact that as I rounded the next corner the car was just going over the r-a-b (Two roads, different routes, both end up at the same place so our paths crossed again) and he was all over the road, beeping his horn and both passenger and driver were chucking stuff out the windows.
So I stopped at the top of the hill and rang it in.
I don't think they were particularly interested, but they did say if he was seen again it'd be investigated.
I just don't see why people should be allowed to carry on like that. Dirty scum bag.

No, Nor me. If nothing else it should be logged for future reference if necessary! Did you give them the reg no.?

Don't be too upset, just keep your eyes open. While working on the motorways [and the same applies to all other roads] I've collected 2 mobile phones, a nice stapler, lots of assorted cash [from 50p to £10], a couple of good LED torches, a very good compass and more maps than I could be bothered to gather in. One idiots loss may be your gain.

You were right to report it. It's an offence to deposit anything on or above a highway that could endanger a user of that highway and chumpo needs his collar felt.

Are police resources so stretched that it is impossible to at least put their number out and get them pulled over to be had a word with. On the reality police programmes they are always saying that a person comiting some low level crime is also likely to be doing something else as well and we see the police pulling cars over for a lot less than you witnessed. I'd have thought that if word got around that you could be pulled over hours after you had acted like an arse then it might discourage a few of them in the first place. It wouldn't take many such stops for the word to get around. Making a small effort over things like this could turn out to have an effect but we'll never know as long as the police look on it as a waste of time.

I totally agree cyclopathic.
In an ideal world , ten minutes after my call he'd be pulled over and told "we've just had reports of you driving without due care" and then have to produce his documentation. Whether it would shake him up or make him think twice next time doesn't matter it would stop him and he'd lose atleast half an hour of his day.
I'm all for zero tolerance personally and think even minor "crimes" should have consequences.

In my experience, anyone daft/unhinged/otherwise inclined to do that will take zero notice of a 'quiet word' from a bobby. A fair proportion aren't even arsed about being nicked, much less lectured. It's a pointless exercise.
