I feel quite chuffed with myself for managing my first week on the bike and not using either the motorbike nor public transport! With the weekend rides I managed to total 60 miles. Ive only been a month in the saddle over all so although that's tiny mileage for some I'm still quite pleased.

Thanks  I feel tired out today. Ride to GF was quite hard. 2 miles across the heath which was wet and sandy, going to have to seriously wash the bike tomorrow! 8.5 total but felt great.
I do feel great doing it. I never thought I'd pull it off for the whole week, my Friday commute is 4 times longer than any other day, but oh so stunning. 8 miles total, but 4 miles along the beech promenade, it was raining but the sea was spectacular, I had a slight tailwind and got to see the sun peak out over the water, it was magical.
Small distances in comparison but I'm getting there!

You will soon build up your base fitness. It doesn't take long with a regular commute.

And WASH THAT BIKE.. SAND! AAAAGGGGHHHH... THE DEVILS WORK IS SAND...

well done chap. Just ignore people who claim you are mad and remember that you only get wet once

Spring and autumn have some spectacular sun + sea +sky moments here on the south coast; I commute along part of Portland harbour and have had my fair share of breathtaking weather of all descriptions!

Don't worry, great wash down today! Also got some full SKS mudguards to fit too, so that should help keep the sand off of things
