As long as I breathe, I attack.
Currently experimenting with an extra large pair of aldi gloves with a pair of thin altura thinsulates underneath or the alturas with an extra large pair of normal thinslulate gloves i got from a garage over the top.
So far the 2 pairs of thinslulate have been the most comfortable although i think the aldi gloves offer better windchill protection but are a but tight so i get a bit of tingle .

I bought a pair of madison fleece gloves which are foiled lined 8 years ago which are great for this time of year and still going strong. Not bad for £7 back then. Should have bought the other three pairs which the LBS was selling off.

My toes are freezing because my silly Shimano shoes have toe holes for ventilation and my overshoes don't seem to stop the cold air coming through them.

Any ideas how to plug the holes?
I must have the same silly shoes. This time of year I wear thin cotton socks under my Sealskin waterproof socks, and feet are pretty toasty.

My fingers suffer so much! Today I had latex gloves, then Pearl Izumi inner gloves then Sealskin Lobster gloves.

Just get some new shoe insoles. Shimano shoes have a blue insole which is removable, replace with a standard show insole and presto, no more wind. It won't keep all the chill out but does help.

I've ordered a pair of Castelli neoprene gloves, which although hands can get a bit sweaty, I've been told are magic for really cold days. I have a very thin pair of undergloves I might use with them to stop the clamminess.

Crikey. You're a braver man than me!!!
Unfortunately nothing to do with bravery, the veins and arteries going into my hands are of a size normally only found in a giraffe or of the dimensions installed by a plumber.
Seriously, the downside is that I must be losing heat because the colder it gets the warmer my hands are . Wish my feet were the same.

Buy some thin gaffer tape and seal all the vents. In the front 3rd with it. Then overshoes on. No one will see the gaffer tape. Makes the shoes showerproof aswell.
