Cheers all, I'm craving that Yorkie right now but I'm gonna have to settle for a peanut but kit kat chunky, which I'm sure will divide opinion.

Excellent work, but surely there is a nearer shop......
The trick to getting the distance in is to take it a little easy. I tend to knacker myself out by holding too high a speed (by my low standard) and as such often top out at 40 with the occasional 50.
Where did you go, I was near your way today.

Through Herne, Broomfield, Hillsborough, and Reculver then I joined the Viking Coastal trail and kept going, kinda like Forrest Gump but on a bike.....from that day on if I was going somewhere I was cycling.

I was quite lucky that if I kept going and got exhausted I could have come off the trail and jumped on a train back...

Im with you GOAB, peanut kit kat is fine fare, i don't employ my sweet tooth very often as I like my savoury too much.

I often plan my rides with a bail out train station within reach. Luckily I have options in all directions from here. I am a cop out at times. I am trying to man up and ride home instead of bailing though. It's all in the mind really as when you get home it seems like no big deal.

I found it interesting that I just decided to keep going rather than having a solid destination in mind. I might try and get round to Deal at some point if you fancy meeting up for a quick jaunt. I'll probably leave that till the summer though.

I'm sure that can be done, I'm in Dover but there are a couple of other CC'ers close by.

I often just head out into the countryside, sometimes with a destination but just wing the route. I also have some regular routes I do too. They don't get boring.

I used to have a lot of appointments in the country bits surrounding Dover. A family member of mine is in Eythorne so I imagine I'll be over that way a lot in the summer. There seems to be quite a few CC'ers down this neck of the woods, often makes me wonder if any of us have passed each other without knowing it.

I'm sure it will have happened.

Got to be brutally honest.
I think that's pathetic.
Its a bit feeble
You should hold your head in shame.
How could you possibly FORGET THE YORKIE ?????

I walked into the Premier Stores. I was sweating slightly as I'd seen some oiks outside when I was locking my bike up. I kept it in view but alas they congregated to admire the bike in all its muddy glory. I threw some shrapnel on the counter, just enough for my Sprite. Then I ran for the door. I can still hear the words echoing in my ears.... "Nice bike mate" "How fast does it go? ". I hastily unlocked the bike and powered out of range. At the next junction I was lost deep in thought for the memory of the Yorkie that never was. I soon snapped out of it when the bloke behind beeped his horn and called me a twat.

I finally got my Yorkie(s)

Hope to be able to do 40 miles myself at some point so certainly inspiring for me.

As for Yorkies, true story, for at least 10 years I averaged at least a yorkie a day. For the last 2-3 years I was having at least 2 KING size yorkies a day! Haven't had one in probably a year now:sad: because I'm "looking after myself"
