My nephew is a pop star!

Not my cup of tea, but it´s the sound of today and it´s what the kids want!

Liked the music, though; the vocals could have been a bit more powerful, but as I say, I´m not a kid, just an old git!
Good luck to ´em!

Fantastic achievement to get this far, well done! Could only hear snippets of the music though but it sounded just like a million other bands that have tried and failed. Unless they find a hook, some find of defining feature, I doubt they'll get far. But they're off to a good start!

Oh pop star. I had misread it as porn star!

Anyway, good luck with his career. There is the potential to become very rich.

My brother and I also told him he was holding back. He's doing better now but could still do with a bit more conviction.

Clear crisp voice, he will have all the girls chasing after him. How is the band doing on the local scene?

You've got an echo!

Doing well, AFAIK. They are in Sheffield.

I really don't like the production, sounds very much made in a bedroom, shame as it detracts from the songs.
Musicianship isn't too hot, but then they are young and time is on their side.

It sounds very similar to alot of stuff that was happening locally back in the early 80's, as such I could listen to it through a sense of familiarity.

Is this being put out as a self venture, or is it backed by a label?

Just as an aside, I clicked the name link from that page and it brought up this...

"El Cartel

Latin music star El Cartel blends Dominican merenhouse with American hip-hop. He debuted in 1991 with the single "From a Jack to a King" and went on to release albums such as 1997's Ahora Es and 2000's"

sounds like they are using the same name as some bad homeboy hip hop latino! :becool:

good luck to him/them though, here's hoping they progress

I'd better start sucking up to him in case he gets rich.

My brother-in-law was best mates with Ozzy Osborne at school in Staffordshire but of course nobody ever believes him when he tells them! They used to play guitar together but BIL dropped out and now teaches music for a living. He tells us Ozzy was quite daft even as a kid and used to just hang around with whoever would have him along.
