I bought a pair of Crane Sports padded wicking cycling boxer shorts from Aldi yesterday. Wore them this morning and was crippled after about three miles. The chafing was awful! They are more comfortable inside out as the nice shiny material is then next to your crown jewels.
Caveat emptor!

Or just get some better padded shorts! As much as folks rave about aldi and lidl, there really is better kit out there which may cost more but is more fit for purpose!

I got the ladies version: they're ok, but then I don't wear padded often, no need when you have natural padding

I got some seamless ones from primark to stop chappy getting cold in strong headwinds. They work fine, no chaffing/discomfort, got a pack of three for a £5er, not sure if they still have them.

I always give items of clothing a couple of washes before I wear them ... takes away the new stiffness and try some talc around your bit before you put them on

You should never try and take the stiffness away from new pants, you might never get it back!
