My new steel daily runabout

Was going to keep it standard but decided to add a bit of bling.
Light and quick for a near oldy...paintwork has some top rust issues which i have touched in....may even get it sprayed but for now its hop on and go.....black rear mech cable soon to be white..run out.

Looks nice . Why the top tube cable clips? No braze on stops / internal.....

Hi...they was rusty and need new ones so filed off and fitted clips for now

On the subject of older steel bikes, arrived @ work today and there was a Claude Butler Ambassador in the shed. Reynolds 531 throughout, 6 speed freewheel + double chainwheel, alloy rims and a 'proper' bottom bracket axle. Must have been at least 35 years old and still bore the logo of a family run LBS which is still trading - !

Hello andrew yes 7 speed...was going to put gumwall on but ive kept my other steel bikes pretty original so just went for a bit of fun with this.

Having said that, one of my bikes is a Dawes Fox of similar vintage which I WAS going to restore to original condition after a friend gave it to me, but ended up doing a complete update including losing the original 5 speed freewheel and putting in a 6 speed cassette - ! Recently fitted handbuilt Mavic rims, aahhh - !
