This was going to be a good day - no rain forecast and some interesting bike fettling after a 30 mile loop.

Mile 3 - big black cloud and a good soaking (thank you Met Office)
Mile 6 - click,click pssssss. Oh great my favourate changing a tube in the rain.

WHERE TYRE LEVERS !!!!!!!!!!!!

Well at least I now know you can walk 6 miles on SPD SL cleats / carbon shoes. :biggrin::smile:!:biggrin:

An old MTB trick was to use your QR levers as emergency tyre levers. However, given the grief I recently went through getting some Pro race II tyres on, I wouldn't like to risk my QR's to try and get them off.

Bad luck though. Hopefully it will just be glorious sunshine and no mechanicals for the next six months to make up for it.

Jammy sod!!! I had to walk 9 miles in mine.

(valve tore off :biggrin:, no spare tube :smile:, big mistake :biggrin:, never again :angry:.)

I can get my conti ultra sport 700x23s on without tyre levers, can also get my schwalbe albert 2.25s on my mtb without tyre levers.
