I think the snail was lucky that I didn't stand on it as I walked up down the path doing the bird feeders

On the subject of Watchet. I read recently that the lighthouse there is apparently the wrong colour. It is red and should be green ? It could be confusing for shipping they say. Never mind it has been that way for about 100 years ? Still, they may keep the land side of it red . Well, fancy that !

Indeed. The lighthouse is some 164 years old, and has been the "wrong" colour, albeit for "only" the last 160 years 😃

The local government has several of load carrying bikes for use in the old city centre. We have a contract to maintain them which includes pickup and delivery.

This used to involve driving a van to the council office, but it's much faster for me to ride in, take my folding bike out of the box and ride back.

Also, there isn't enough money in Tübingen to persuade me to drive a two-ton van down those streets.

And presumably there has`nt been a shipping incident in that time ? If it ain`t broke don`t try to fix it ! Perhaps just a lot of confused sailors out there.
