Hi all,
Just a quick note to say thanks for the advice you guys gave me and to report that about 3 weeks back it was taking me 50mins to bike 5.5 miles on my giant mountain bike, and now after buying a new bike , 2 to 3 weeks later I have that time down to about 30mins...which believe it or not is slightly faster than the bus was when I used to catch that!
And can now pretty much maintain a stedy pace with out killing myself too, I'm also burning about 600 calories a day too, so I am now finally doing something other than sitting in an office chair all day
Cheers!

) the bus was timetabled for 21 mins (if there was congestion it'd be much longer) and I'd usually go up the hill to work in just over 15 minutes and down the hill in under 15 minutes. The replacement service takes nearly 1/2 hour at least (less direct).
