My Punt on the Grand National

I do bet occasionally (not addicted just the odd little punt) but I always have about a fiver on the National.....

About a month ago I had a dream that I won on the National this year....... and I scoured the advance listings to try to remember the horse in my dream but to no avail......

I have now spotted a horse rode by the champion jockey A.P. McCoy...... taking into account the wheel problems I've had this week and the fact that people on CC recommend Fulcrum 7's...................

The horses name is Double Seven and at 14-1 (taken the odds not the S.P as I reckon it will come down a bit by 4.15 tomorrow) I have doubled my usual national flutter to a £10 win (I don't normally bother with e/w) to win the exact price of a pair of Fulcrum 7's £150.... inc stake back (I'd have 2 fulcrum 7's so.... double 7..... get it?)........

Got to be on omen hasn't it........ My late dads betting system was based on names of people and hunches rather than form (and he had quite a bit of luck on the geegees)

COME ON DOUBLE SEVEN WIN ME SOME FULCRUM 7'S:bravo:

Rocky Creek - for no other reason that I usually find myself up a creek with a different name....... and without a paddle!!
What's the odds like.... I'd back e/w if its long enough odds..... because those Fulcrum 7's are being bought out of my winnings......

Without wanting to sound too much like a wet blanket, I hope you lose!!

Too many people let dreams and hunches guide their choices in all sorts of things, and then claim some sort of super-natural ability if they happen to succeed with it, whilst failing to shout about all the times it doesn't come to anything. Furthermore, to pick a horse which the champion jockey is sitting on isn't exactly to back the outsider.

As an aside, I met Red Rum once, whilst he was still racing......muscle definition that any cyclist would be proud of!

Thanks for that.... I do read the form and this has won 5 times in the last 6 outings and yes I know McCoy is champion jockey so I combined the outcome of my dream, my Synchronicity based hunch with good value odds of the top jockeys ride (he ain't going ride a nag in the biggest race in the calender) and my (limited experience) of form reading...... to come up with a dead cert!!!!

@MikeG, given your worries from a few days ago I thought you might at least have a go at 'The Package' at 20/1?
No? OK, I'll just 'Walkon' then (at 40/1)
