To slow and/or stop the bike.
Or do you mean as opposed to rim braking?
Disks imo give better and all-weather braking. I also prefer the aesthetics.

It's a bit cheeky to describe those as skinny tyres!

  7. I was meaning why not rim brakes if brakes at all if it is a fixie?

It was all quite BBC 2 travelogue until you started talking about the chainstays...

I've cycled that stretch of road, in both directions, I too was slightly perturbed when you started describing the rear stays . Why is your front Q/R skewer facing forward in that slightly erect menacing way?

Can we have some footage of you actually riding?

More critique: the bottom bracket has external bearings, not the chainset.

    Nice bike, though!

Thanks Mr. Pedantic! Well if you must know, the spider and the bb axle are a single unit, so technically, I could be correct!

Oh dear. I've had a look at my current account and I would appear to be about £1500 or so in the black at the moment! ;)

There must be something more sensible I could do with that sort of dosh? Can anyone think of anything?

    (sorry for thread resurrection, btw)
