Lady cyclist's and the power of a smile.
Riding behind a very attractive lady cyclist through town last week, we both came to a pedestrian crossing with people using it. I stopped, she did'nt.
Behind us, (and watching) was a police car with two bobbies. As we caught her up a minute later, the bobby in the passenger side winds his window down and wags a finger at her. She gives him a great big smile, the police car drops back due to traffic and the lady cyclist and I continue on.
We come to second pedestrian crossing, this one has lights (on red of course) I stop, she continues on just as before.
After the pedestrians had crossed, the police car overtakes me and this time they pull the lady over. The bobby from the passenger side gets out and she gives him an even bigger big smile. I overtake them all, and continue for four or five minutes to be stopped by temporary traffic lights at road works.
It's a long wait, and as I am waiting, the same lady cyclist overtakes me yet again, to continue just as before through the (red) light. At this point the same police car pulls up along side me with the bobby behind the wheel absolutely doubled up with laughter at his disbelieving mate.
