Well living here in Northern Germany I needed two bikes for my daily commute (One at either end of my train journey.) So I told my wife I would buy a town bike! She was expecting a dutch style shopping bike that everyone here rides, however I went and bought this frame on Ebay Ooops!

It's the more unfashionable and hence much cheaper, Reynolds 501 with the all important horizontal dropouts a really nice frames from Dawes around mid 90's vintage when they still created good frames.

So using a few bits I had lying around and some others I bought I created a nice single speed. Because it's as flat as a pancake here I'm running 46/15 combo and it's an absolute joy to ride. One day I'll maybe get it painted white, but for know it's had to be pressed into service for the daily commute.
