I have , for the first time since owing it in 12 months checked the ratio of my Single Speed

Its 52x17

Now what does that mean ? how does it stack up? is that high? Low? Keeping in mind im doing around 700ft of climbing in 13-15 miles EACH Way (I do the same elevation and distance each way)

Most of the time Im holding 20-22mph (on the flat and shallow climbs), what Cadence would that give me and what would my GI be?

Thanks

80 GI
90RPM = 21.5mph

For road use that is what most would call higher than normal but not by much.
For track use it is low.

A lot higher than the 65 inch gear I ride on my fixed, 110 rpm at 21 mph, I'd have problems running a gear that high.

i can never remember the formula for working inch & gears out

My SS is 44:17 and can hold 25mph+ along Chester Road when I don't get caught at lights, that is 10 miles in though. I'm thinking you're running too high on the front, drop it down and spin your legs up.

Too hight why?
Can hold 30 along there or any other road like it if I'm in the mood and climb into Oldham morning and night without a huge issue, even if it means I'm not the fastest on a climb

It's a little bigger than my 46x16 or 76 inch. Sould be fine - I'd get fixed though ! Should be good for 26 that gear at about 110rpm - I get about 24ish at 110.
